Research School on Peace and Conflict

The PRIO Research School on Peace and Conflict is our hub for state-of-the-art PhD level courses aimed at training emerging scholars in peace research. Our courses are taught by leading academics from PRIO and affiliated institutions and cover both methodological and topical issues.

The Research School hosts a series of PhD level courses each year. Our courses are multidisciplinary and engage lecturers and participants from diverse fields like social sciences, law, history, and philosophy. Calls for the courses are issued multiple times a year and can be found on this page.

While PRIO cannot issue ECTS credits, our courses are formed according to University of Oslo standards, so candidates generally get credits approved by their home institution. Until 2021, the Research School was funded by the Research Council of Norway and was run in collaboration with the University of Oslo and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
