The Research School on Peace and Conflict offers the best possible research training for the next generation of peace and conflict scholars.
Based at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), courses are taught by prominent academics from PRIO as well as other institutions in Norway and beyond.
Courses examine both methodological and topical issues. The Research School is multidisciplinary. With participants and lectureres from various disciplines (including the social sciences, law, history, and philosophy), the Research School and its courses offer a vibrant and stimulating intellectual community.
This initiative was funded by a National Research School grant from the Research Council of Norway which lasted until 2021. The Research School was up until then run as a collaboration between the University of Oslo, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and PRIO. PhD candidates were members of the School throughout their entire PhD process. We continue to offer regular PhD courses under the umbrella of the Research School no longer operate on a membership basis.
