How Scarce Water Resources Can Be Drivers for Violent Communal Conflict
The dissertation project is planned to be carried out in three parts, i.e., at least three separate articles. The first part will deal with water scarcity as a potential driver for armed conflict. The second part will scrutinize the role of water access during armed conflict. The third part will deal with how water sharing or access to water can contribute to post-war development and peace building. The project is part of the Research School for International Water Cooperation, in partnership with the International Centre for Water Cooperation (under the auspices of UNESCO).
